How to issue your first invoice

When you sign up, your company is set up from its Company ID (IČO) and the details are loaded from the business register. Before you issue your first invoice, check three things:

  1. Document footer. A Czech invoice must state your entry in the commercial or trade register. The dashboard offers the text for you to confirm with one click (the card “One more thing: document footer”).
  2. Bank account. In the Account menu (it shows your company name), Bank accounts. The account number is printed on invoices and used for the QR payment code.
  3. Document design (Account, Document design), if you want a logo or a different template.

Create the invoice in the Invoices menu, New invoice. Start typing the customer’s name or Company ID and the app finds the company in the business register, VAT ID (DIČ) included. The register only covers Czech companies, so enter a customer from abroad by hand. Add the items and save. The invoice number and the payment reference (variabilní symbol) are filled in automatically from your number series.

Sending the invoice is described in Sending an invoice by email. If you want the app itself in English, see Using fakturum in English.
